Le transport en commun n’a pas la cote chez les \u00c3\u00a9lus municipaux alors que les 13 conseillers interrog\u00c3\u00a9s par le Journal ont avou\u00c3\u00a9 n’\u00c3\u00aatre pas des usagers assidus de ce mode de transport. Si la plupart ont des raisons valables de bouder ce service de par la nature de leur travail, il n’en demeure pas moins que leurs arguments valent pour une majorit\u00c3\u00a9 de citoyens. Entre l’offre et la demande, le dilemme est complet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peu surpris par les r\u00c3\u00a9sultats de l’enqu\u00c3\u00aate, le directeur g\u00c3\u00a9n\u00c3\u00a9ral de l’organisme Acc\u00c3\u00a8s Transport Viables, \u00c3\u2030tienne Grandmont, croit que \u00c2\u00absi on avait des \u00c3\u00a9lus qui prenaient davantage les transports collectifs et actifs, ils seraient de meilleurs promoteurs\u00c2\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Pas n\u00c3\u00a9cessairement r\u00c3\u00a9pond la mairesse de L\u00c3\u00a9vis, Danielle Roy Marinelli.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00abJe pense que ce n’est pas parce qu’on est gestionnaire d’une soci\u00c3\u00a9t\u00c3\u00a9 de transport qu’on se doit obligatoirement de l’utiliser. [\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6] Par contre, moi dans ma vie d’ancienne pr\u00c3\u00a9sidente de la soci\u00c3\u00a9t\u00c3\u00a9 de transport, il m’arrivait de l’utiliser pour v\u00c3\u00a9rifier des choses. Et je pense que le personnel fait \u00c3\u00a7a aussi\u00c2\u00bb, nuance-t-elle en se disant persuad\u00c3\u00a9e que les conseillers font malgr\u00c3\u00a9 tout d’excellents d\u00c3\u00a9fenseurs du transport collectif.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

La fr\u00c3\u00a9quence<\/strong>
\nIl reste que les raisons invoqu\u00c3\u00a9es par les \u00c3\u00a9lus pour expliquer leur choix pointent toutes en direction d’un point commun, soit la fr\u00c3\u00a9quence.<\/p>\n

En effet, ces derniers doivent se d\u00c3\u00a9placer plusieurs fois dans la m\u00c3\u00aame journ\u00c3\u00a9e. Ainsi, le service actuel, moins efficace en dehors des heures de pointe, ne permet pas de r\u00c3\u00a9pondre \u00c3\u00a0 leurs besoins, se d\u00c3\u00a9fendent-ils.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00abC’est ce sur quoi on travaille \u00c3\u00a0 essayer d’am\u00c3\u00a9liorer l’offre, les fr\u00c3\u00a9quences, donc, de rendre \u00c3\u00a7a plus accessible. Mais est-ce qu’on va r\u00c3\u00a9ussir \u00c3\u00a0 combler toutes les attentes et tous les besoins? C’est une autre paire de manches, c’est bien clair\u00c2\u00bb, avoue le directeur g\u00c3\u00a9n\u00c3\u00a9ral de la Soci\u00c3\u00a9t\u00c3\u00a9 de Transport de L\u00c3\u00a9vis (STL\u00c3\u00a9vis), Jean-Fran\u00c3\u00a7ois Carrier lorsque questionn\u00c3\u00a9 sur le sujet.<\/p>\n

Pour le conseiller de Lauzon, Jean-Claude Bouchard, il n’y a pas de recette miracle.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00abC’est un peu comme la saucisse dans un hot dog. Plus qu’on va en avoir, plus que le monde vont en manger. Plus qu’on va en donner, plus que les gens vont avoir un int\u00c3\u00a9r\u00c3\u00aat \u00c3\u00a0 l’utiliser\u00c2\u00bb, image-t-il.<\/p>\n

L’assurance d’arriver \u00c3\u00a0 l’heure<\/strong>
\nIl reste qu’entrent le travail, la garderie et les activit\u00c3\u00a9s parascolaires, les couples avec enfants ont \u00c3\u00a9galement leurs lots d’excuses pour rester dans leur voiture.<\/p>\n

Peut-on esp\u00c3\u00a9rer logiquement les voir rejoindre les 5% de la population qui utilise en ce moment les autobus de la STL\u00c3\u00a9vis?<\/p>\n

Sans nier l’importance de la fr\u00c3\u00a9quence, le directeur g\u00c3\u00a9n\u00c3\u00a9ral de la STL\u00c3\u00a9vis estime que l’am\u00c3\u00a9lioration de la fiabilit\u00c3\u00a9 du r\u00c3\u00a9seau pourra certainement contribuer \u00c3\u00a0 convaincre une partie de ces citoyens \u00c3\u00a0 embarquer dans ses v\u00c3\u00a9hicules. \u00c2\u00abL’exp\u00c3\u00a9rience d\u00c3\u00a9montre qu’\u00c3\u00a0 partir du moment o\u00c3\u00b9 tu sais que tu peux compter sur le service, et bien il est plus facile \u00c3\u00a0 utiliser. Lorsque tu sais \u00c3\u00a0 quelle heure il [l’autobus] va passer, tu t’organises en cons\u00c3\u00a9quence\u00c2\u00bb, indique-t-il.<\/p>\n

C’est pourquoi la soci\u00c3\u00a9t\u00c3\u00a9 l\u00c3\u00a9visienne travaille actuellement \u00c3\u00a0 implanter dans ses stations les plus achaland\u00c3\u00a9es les heures du passage des autobus.<\/p>\n

Aussi, dans un horizon \u00c3\u00a0 moyen terme, les propri\u00c3\u00a9taires de t\u00c3\u00a9l\u00c3\u00a9phone intelligent auront acc\u00c3\u00a8s \u00c3\u00a0 un syst\u00c3\u00a8me d’alerte qui va leur indiquer l’heure du passage. Plus pr\u00c3\u00a9cis\u00c3\u00a9ment, un usager pourra recevoir l’information chez lui si son bus est en retard de deux minutes par exemple. \u00c2\u00abCe sont vraiment des efforts qui sont faits pour tenter de toujours d\u00c3\u00a9samorcer l’inqui\u00c3\u00a9tude quant \u00c3\u00a0 savoir si le bus sera l\u00c3\u00a0 ou non. Parce que c’est \u00c3\u00a7a qui est vraiment un frein \u00c3\u00a0 la consommation du produit\u00c2\u00bb, fait remarquer M. Carrier.<\/p>\n

R\u00c3\u00a9aliste, il n’esp\u00c3\u00a8re pas n\u00c3\u00a9cessairement le jour o\u00c3\u00b9 la majorit\u00c3\u00a9 des citoyens profitera du transport collectif. \u00c3\u20ac long terme, \u00c2\u00absi on est capable de passer de 5% \u00c3\u00a0 10%, on va \u00c3\u00aatre super content\u00c2\u00bb, vise-t-il comme objectif tout en pr\u00c3\u00a9cisant qu’\u00c2\u00abun point de pourcentage, c’est \u00c3\u00a9norme pour nous\u00c2\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Ce qu’ils ont dit<\/strong><\/i>
\n\u00c2\u00abProbablement, lorsque je prendrai v\u00c3\u00a9ritablement ma retraite, j’utiliserai davantage l’autobus. Parce que j’aime \u00c3\u00a7a moi le transport en commun. [\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6] Mais je prends au moins deux fois par mois le traversier pour me rendre dans le Vieux-Qu\u00c3\u00a9bec\u00c2\u00bb – Simon Th\u00c3\u00a9berge, conseiller municipal pour le secteur Notre-Dame\/Saint-Laurent.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00abJe n’utilise pas le transport en commun de la STL\u00c3\u00a9vis, mais aux fins de mon travail, parce que je suis avocat, j’utilise le traversier \u00c3\u00a0 pied et je me rends au palais de justice \u00c3\u00a0 pied. [\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6] Vous comprendrez que si un juge m’appelle ou si je dois aller faire bref de saisie ou des affaires semblables, je ne peux pas me permettre de prendre le bus. Mais si je pouvais le prendre, je peux vous assurer que je le prendrais\u00c2\u00bb – Michel Patry, conseiller municipal pour le secteur de Charny et pr\u00c3\u00a9sident de la STL\u00c3\u00a9vis.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00ab Bien que j’aime prendre le bus et que je suis un ardent d\u00c3\u00a9fenseur du transport en commun, je suis un utilisateur plut\u00c3\u00b4t occasionnel (3-4 fois par an). J’ai \u00c3\u00a9t\u00c3\u00a9 un grand utilisateur du transport en commun lors de mon passage au c\u00c3\u00a9gep et \u00c3\u00a0 l’universit\u00c3\u00a9 et mes deux fils l’utilisent de fa\u00c3\u00a7on soutenue pour se d\u00c3\u00a9placer sur le territoire\u00c2\u00bb – Mario Fortier, conseiller municipal dans le secteur de Saint-\u00c3\u2030tienne.<\/p>\n
